I took my son James and dog Woody down to the Carmel River Beach yesterday to enjoy a relaxing spring day. James and I had just finishing playing in the waves and tidal pools, and I took this picture…This evening, my wife and I were enjoying the pictures before dinner and she said: "what the hell is that behind James!? It's a shark!" I didn't notice it when I took the photo. Check out the jumping shark on the upper left part of the photo over James' shoulder!

For perspective, we were about 100 yards from the breakers (we were up on a small sand hill), and the shark was about 40 feet from the shore. I'm guessing he's about 5-7 feet long. If you download and zoom in, you can see that he's upside down, you can see his white belly, his big black eyes, and dorsal fins!
